The size of Bowl: 6 3/4" Dia x 2 1/4". Japanese Ko Imari Blue and White Porcelain Bowl. The bowl was made solidly and very steady with good fine glazing. The center bowl has Hana-Mon(flower mon) design. The side wall has the dedisng of Momo(peach) Karakusa(Chinese grass) design. Peach is lucky symbol. Outside has Karakusa design. A very unusual pair of moulded dishes in the form of three bamboo leaves, take, cobalt blue glazed with gilt and iron red Sparrows , Suzume, set against a woven ground in gold. These beautifully decorated covered jars are 10 ¼ inches tall including the lids. They The jars have each been decorated with four panels with two having bamboo and two having flowers with butterflies flying overhead. The blue is underglaze with all the other colors over the glaze. There is a liberal use of gold in decorating the jars. The jars are very good quality. We date these to the early 20th century, though they could be 19th century.

Superb Arita Ai Kakiemon Shishi Dish – Meji
An exceptionally fine porcelain dish in “Ai Kakiemon” style decorated with a pattern of Shishi and a Lotus Scroll arabesque. The reverse decorated with stylised Lotus motifs and a Chinese six character mark, reading Dai Ming Cheng Hua nensei. A single spur within the foot-ring.
The dish measures 25cms or 9.5ins in diameter and is in perfect condition.
